Today’s New York Times
features three dramatic examples of working “outside of channels,” an approach I have always used myself:
·
Dennis Rodman agreeing to coach North Korea ’s
basketball team in preparation for the Olympics
·
Pope Francis making “cold calls” by phone to
the faithful who are suffering
·
Vladimir Putin circumventing diplomatic
channels and proposing an “out” for Obama and America who are painted into a
corner behind their Syrian ‘red-liine.’
These three strange bedfellows may be harbingers of a new
world of tweeting overtures and diplomacy.
Stay tuned for the next decade of chirps.
