* Tiger Woulds: The Ten Mirrors

Tiger Woulds

The Tiger Would or Tiger Wouldn't fall-from-grace-due-to-
adultery drama , like the Governor Sanford drama, the Governor Spitzer drama, the President Clinton or the Vice President Rockefeller dramas, ad nauseum, reminds me that the Ten Commandments are not commandments because people OBEY them; they are commandments because people do NOT obey them.

Otherwise they'd be the Ten Suggestions or the Ten Training Exercises or maybe the Ten Rules to Stress - Free Living.

In fact, if you want a mirror (or ten mirrors) to hold up to actual human nature, read the Ten Commandments and invert them.

Instead of Thou shalt not kill (or murder) read the angry message behind the command: Thou dost kill!

Now go on from there and take your pick (below) of your favorite religion's version of the Decalogue (Ten Commandments) and invert the commands to find out what's really going on in the world:

Exodus 20

Which Ten Commandments?

Protestant
Catholic
Hebrew

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

1. I am the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

1. I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

2. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.

Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, nor any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; Thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate Me; And showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love Me and keep My commandments.

4. Honor thy Father and thy Mother.
